The first is to fly directly to Skardu airport, a scenic 1-hour flight over the Karakoram and Himalayan Ranges. The air distance from Islamabad to Skardu is about 318 km (198 miles). You can hire local cars and Prados to explore Skardu’s tourist attractions on a per-day rental basis.
You can ride public transport, such as Faisal Movers, K-2, and Mashaburam Travel buses, at affordable prices along the Karakoram Highway. The ticket price is between 4,500 and 5,000 per person, one way. On the way, you can explore the beauty of the Karakoram ranges, Nanga Parbat View, Kohistan, and the Indus River. There´s no direct bus from Lahore to Skardu, so you must go to Islamabad first.
If you love to travel separately by car, you can buy a seat or hire a full car with an expert driver from Islamabad to reach Skardu. It is advisable not to go directly to Skardu from Islamabad. You should take some nights in Naran or in Chillas while going to Skardu. In a car, per seat, it costs you 7000 to 9000 on one side.
