Trek to Neela Wahn

The Blue Pond (Neela Wahan) is located 30 km from Kallar Kahar in a small village called Nurpur. Neela Wahn’s sign was indistinct, so we had to rely on Google Maps and detailed directions from the locals. There was a rocky path leading into the hills adjacent to a big house where we parked our car.

You should be able to walk down to the waterfall in about 45 minutes, passing through a few houses of local villagers. You pass both boulders and green pastures filled with cows. The trek is not bad, since chirping birds are heard around every corner, and the wind gently blows throughout the long journey.

Almost at the pond’s edge, we spotted a cluster of green trees and a green pool surrounded by large rocks. Small ponds sourced from the same spring are found behind a mountain at Neela Wahn. In the beginning, a few of the ponds are small, but the others, further into the mountains, are bigger, and one can swim in them.

Families and university students often bring picnic baskets to the lake to enjoy a nice meal because there is no nearby kiosk or café. Not only are these unknown spots and activities, but they’re close enough for a day trip.
