At a height of 6500 feet and located along the bank of the Swat River, Kalam Valley is 99 kilometers away from Mingora in the northern upper reaches of Swat Valley. Take a stroll along the Swat River’s banks at Fiza Ghat Park, or set off on an adventurous journey to Ushu Forest, where towering Deodar trees create a sense of peace.
Mahodand Lake is a perfect blend of natural beauty, adventure, and relaxation. It provided us with an opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse ourselves in the serenity of the Swat Valley.
A 3-hour jeep ride from Kalam. The first destination of this tour is the Ushu Forest. Almost 4 KM of road in between the forests, presenting the views we dream of while watching those Romantic Movies. From there, you will drive to the small village of Matiltan, where the Mahodand Lake road starts.

Ideally, you should carry 15 to 20 kg of luggage per person, which will be tied to the roof of the coaster, and one hand-carry bag. After the luggage is transferred to the roof, it will be accessed again upon arrival at the Kalam hotel.

The best time to visit Swat is from May to October, when daytime temperatures range from 15 to 25°C. The meadows, waterfalls, and rivers are most beautiful then.
Need normal daytime clothes from May to August and 1 jacket or warm shawl for nighttime, as temperatures drop. So, pack some regular dresses and some warm clothes.
Recently got to travel to Swat with the Nature Adventure Club and highly recommend it.
