Lulusar is a lake located near the Naran Valley in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. In Pashto, the term “sar” translates to “top or peak.” Specifically, Lulusar refers to the mountains that surround the lake, meaning it is the lake of Lulusar. It sits at coordinates N35.0804 E73.9266, at an elevation of 11,200 ft (3,410 m) above sea level.
The lake serves as the primary source of the Kunhar River, which flows through the entire Kaghan Valley, passing through Jalkhand, Naran Valley, Kaghan, Jared, Paras, and Balakot before merging with the Jhelum River. Lulusar is situated 48 kilometers from Naran along the Naran-Babusar road. It is historically significant as the site where 55 participants of the war of independence in 1857 were arrested.
